At AM PAT Testing & Fire Safety we offer
A Reliable Fire Extinguisher Service
We provide a complete fire extinguisher service from site surveys through to installation, commissioning, servicing and replacements. We carry a wide range of stock and parts to ensure an efficient and hassle-free service.
When it comes to fire protection for your building, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 contains extensive regulations regarding fire safety equipment and legal requirements. The regulations in the UK state fire extinguishers should be serviced once per year by a competent person.
Fire extinguishers should also be subject to an extended service or overhaul every 5 or 10 years, depending on the types of extinguishers you have.
With this in mind, we are competent to carry out this work having been trained with the FIA (Fire Industry Association) and examined by a BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) assessor. We also attend refresher training every 3 years to ensure competency and work strictly in accordance with BS5306-3 (commissioning and servicing) and BS5306-8 (selection and positioning of extinguishers). What’s more, we are a member of the UK Fire Association who represent small and medium-sized companies providing fire prevention and protection services, advice, solutions and training.

FULLY Checked
During your service we check the extinguisher and its components are free from damage, weigh it to ensure any loss of contents is within the permissible limit, carry out a pressure gauge test and ensure it is safe for continued use.
You will then be issued with a certificate of inspection.
Fully Assured
Regular servicing and maintenance of your company’s fire extinguishers is vital to ensure they operate correctly in an emergency.
We work strictly in accordance with BS5306-3 (commissioning and servicing) and can provide replacement parts and extinguishers where required.
What happens during your service?
During your service we check the extinguisher and its components are free from damage, weigh it to ensure any loss of contents is within the permissible limit, carry out a pressure gauge test and ensure it is safe for continued use. The service label is then filled out (or applied during commissioning) and you will be issued with a certificate of inspection listing all of the extinguishers and results.
Extinguishers that fail will have a ‘corrective action required’ or ‘condemned’ label applied to them. We carry a range of extinguishers and service parts and can usually replace them on the day or quickly order them in if required.
If possible, providing your current certificate of inspection will help us better prepare for our visit and ensure we have all the necessary spares available if required.
